Teaming up with UBI4ALL

Most people talk about Basic Income. UBI4ALL just does it.

A few times a year, this European nonprofit raffles off a real Basic Income to a real person. No pilot study, no white paper, no committee deciding who deserves it. You register, you get a lot number, and once a round is fully funded by donations, they pull one number live on stream. 

Whoever holds the lucky number gets €9,600, paid out monthly over one to five years depending on where they live, so the money actually stretches the way it would in that person's economy. Winners so far have used it to change careers, finish degrees, support their families, or just breathe for the first time in a while. 

Registration is free. You don't need to prove you're poor enough or fill out a means test. You just need to be 16 or older and willing to find out what a Basic Income actually feels like instead of arguing about it on the internet. From Europe to everywhere

What started in Europe has since expanded into worldwide Basic Income raffles. Previous winners have come from different parts of the world, including Taiwan, and the community is currently growing especially in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

One of the most beautiful things about watching a community grow is seeing how Basic Income connects people across borders. Participants, donors, partners, and winners may live thousands of kilometres apart, but they are united by the same question: what could become possible if everyone had greater financial security?

Most of the funding comes from the UBI Beavers, a growing community of recurring donors who contribute an average of €5 a month to make the next draw possible. Beavers reshape nature—and Basic Income will reshape our society.

Not just a winner this time

We're partnering with UBI4ALL for raffle number ten, and this one does something new. It's also a chance for us to put Social Income in front of an audience that already cares about UBI, people who've registered, who show up for the livestream, who are exactly the crowd we want to reach.

Alongside the usual draw, where one lucky person walks away with a Basic Income, we're going to start an actual UBI program live, on the spot, for up to fifteen people in West Africa. Not a pledge. A real program, kicked off in front of the audience watching the stream.

We're also pulling one more name that day: someone from the live audience who gets to help shape the program itself, starting with picking which country it launches in.

Here's the point we want to make. Starting a Basic Income program for people in extreme poverty doesn't require years of planning or a stack of approvals. It takes two to three minutes. There are no hurdles standing between "we should do this" and "we're doing this." We just decided to prove it, live, on camera.
