Africa's youth population is growing fast. Integrating young people into productive adult life is urgent. Skills training can do that, but only if people can afford to stay in it. Too often, they drop out because rent is due or today's meal comes first. With a steady Social Income, people can finish what they started.
Creative workers in this study used their income in three ways: improving their craft, improving their daily lives, and investing directly in their careers. Instead of working less, they worked better.
